The X-Trial World Championship starts its tour de France with Bou leading Busto and Marcelli
Chalon-Sur-Saône hosts the second stage of the 2024 X-Trial World Championship season this coming Friday 15th March from 20:00 local time.
This will be the second time the series has visited the French town and specifically the Colisée which has hosted international events since 1998. It was Toni Bou who took victory in the inaugural 2022 X-Trial Chalon-Sur-Saône, ahead of Adam Raga and Toby Martyn, the Brit claiming his first top-flight podium that night ahead of Matteo Grattarola.
It is Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) who will again start as the favourite here after his dominant victory at X-Trial Barcelona on the first weekend of February, although the likes of Jaime Busto (GasGas) and Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team) will be expected to challenge.
Completing the field will be Matteo Grattarola (Beta) and Adam Raga (Sherco), who finished fourth and fifth at the season opener and have thus earned automatic qualification. Plus, Toby Martyn (Montesa) and Benoit Bincaz (Sherco) who both received Wild Card picks to make their latest appearance. And in total there will be two home representatives, as Hugo Dufrese completes the line-up.
The course will comprise five spectacular and demanding sections in the firts round, four in the second one and a six section Final to decide the win and event podium.
For all of these reasons, the second date on the calendar is sure to be unmissable. Make sure you tune in live or on demand at www.x-trial.tv .
