Vertigo kicks off its tenth TrialGP World Championship season in Japan

Vertigo Motors celebrates a decade in the sport’s top flight.  The TrialGP World Championship, in its 50th anniversary year, will get underway this weekend in Japan.

The ten-year journey of Vertigo Motors in the TrialGP World Championship, based in Palau Solità i Plegamans, perfectly encapsulates the brand’s motto of passion and experience. Over the past decade, Vertigo Motors has reached significant milestones, including the World Championship runner-up spot and winning a top category trial in 2022, as well as securing the 125cc World and European titles in 2019, and triumphs in the Junior categories in 2017 and 2019. Vertigo is also a benchmark in endurance trials such as the Scottish Six Days Trial, where the brand in the green livery has won on no less than six occasions.

Since James Dabill started Vertigo’s journey in TrialGP in 2015, several Vertigo riders have been protagonists in the premier trial competition: in addition to the British rider Dabill, Francesc Moret, Jeroni Fajardo, Jorge Casales, Jaime Busto, Jack Price, Matteo Grattarola and Miquel Gelabert have also represented the marque. The latter is tasked with defending the brand’s colours in this season’s TrialGP edition.

The venue chosen to celebrate 50 years of the Trial World Championship is the Mobility Resort in Motegi, where the Twin Ring speed circuit is located. The double-day event will get underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and, after completing 12 sections, the riders are scheduled to finish the trial at approximately 3.30 p.m. local time. On Sunday, the same format will be repeated with the scoring independent on each day.

Vertigo’s participation in the different categories will feature the Spanish riders Miquel Gelabert (TrialGP) and Pau Martínez (Trial2), Italian Mattia Spreafico (Trial2), British rider Alfie Lampkin (Trial2) and the Belgian Emile Matheeuws (Trial2).
