FIM TrialGP Action Returns to Great Britain in 2025
The ACU is pleased to confirm that Great Britain will host a round of the FIM Trial World Championship (TrialGP) in 2025.
In what is an exciting development for UK motorcycle sport, the event will mark the return of the world’s best trial riders to UK shores for the first time since 2018, when the last outdoor FIM round was held at Addingham Moorside, near Silsden in Yorkshire.
Next year’s British fixture will be held in the grounds of the Boughton House country estate, located three miles north-east of Kettering in Northamptonshire.
The event will be organised by CL Events, a new organiser to the world championship that was nominated by the ACU following a selection process held earlier this year.
CL events is headed by former trial riders Danny Cockshott and Jack Lee. Both men are proud to be bringing the world’s biggest outdoor trial series back to the UK after a seven-year absence.
Danny Cockshott said: “I’m thrilled to be selected to host the 2025 Trial World Championship in the UK. Having followed the GP Circuit since my days as a minder for Ben Hemingway in the early 2000s, I’ve long had the passion to run an event myself and we look forward to an incredible weekend in 2025.”
Jack Lee added: “It’s always been a dream to run a world championship trial. We’ve secured a fantastic venue in Boughton House and the hard work is already underway for Danny and I. We’re both determined to put on an action-packed event that the UK can be rightfully proud of, and we’re excited to welcome the world’s best riders to Northamptonshire.”
Matthew Edwards-Wear, ACU Secretary General, said: “The trial discipline was first born in the UK more than 100 years ago, so confirming the return of TrialGP to Great Britain is a proud moment for everyone in the UK’s motorcycle sport community and gives us another opportunity to show our sporting and organisational prowess to the world.
“The ACU commends Danny and Jack for developing an event that we believe will put the UK firmly back on the world trial map.”
Further information about the event and when it will feature on the 2025 TrialGP calendar will be released in due course.
