The world’s best Trials riders met in Barcelona this past weekend for the opening of the 2024 FIM X-Trial World Championship, the Indoor Trials World Championship.
The program consisted of 5 spectacular sections that the competitors had to complete in 5 minutes maximum during the first round, in 4 minutes during the second round and there were 6 sections for the finalists.
Adam Raga was participating in his second race of the year. He finished second at the Sheffield International Trial last month, he finished 5th at the Palau Sant Jordi Stadium. He had a good feeling on the bike, but the difficulty level was very high, and the slightest mistake had to be paid for in points.
Benoît Bincaz took 6th place in the first round, he also made a small mistake and finished in 7th position at the end of the competition.
Among the women, Emma Bristow finished 2nd behind her main rival, the Spanish rider Berta Abellan.
The second round of the 2024 X-Trial World Championship will take place in Chalon-Sur-Saône, France on March 15th.
Adam Raga
“I had a very good feeling with the bike which handled very well and showed goodperformance. I rode well and had some very good passes. The result is not what I wanted, but I hope to be more competitive in the next event and repeat my finish from Sheffield.”
Benoit Bincaz
“It is always a very special feeling to find yourself in the “cathedral” of indoor trials in Barcelona. I felt good on the bike, despite a small mistake which took me out of the top 5.I finished 7th, tied with 6th.”
Emma Bristow
“I have always loved this event! I felt great on my new bike, and I want to thank the team for the great setup. I finally finished in 2nd position after a mistake on one section, but overall, I am happy and can’t wait to continue training!”
