Pre-65 Scottish 2025 – Latest News

With just under two weeks to go until the start of the 2025 Pre’65 Scottish Trial, we are delighted to announce that our Guest of Honour is Mick Wilkinson.  Mick is a well-known character in Scotland as well as countrywide and in his native Yorkshire and has been making his annual trip North for almost all his life.  You can read more about him in the Guest of Honour article in the programme.

We have managed to secure another area for overnight parking and, although this will not be enough, it will alleviate some of the overnight and parking issues we are facing.  Just a reminder to everyone who is planning to stay overnight that you need to purchase a ticket (£10 per night, max 4 nights Wednesday 30 April to noon on Sunday 4 May 2025) from the official in the start area who is dealing with this before you park up and someone will show you where to park.  Please note that payment is in CASH only this year as we do not have the means to take card payments.  You will be issued with a ticket to display on your windscreen to identify that you have paid.  Please be patient as we work out the best and most efficient way to deal with this unprecedented situation we find ourselves in.  Please adhere to all our official signage around the village indicating the areas marked for Competitor/Officials Overnight parking and those for Competitor Day Parking only.  We are truly sorry that we cannot provide an area for spectators but there is a lot of street parking around the village and we ask that you park with consideration for the local community and that you do not cause any obstruction to the flow of traffic.  This is vital for the survival of the event for the future and your help would be very much appreciated by the organising committee.

We also have an exciting new venture this year in the form of “The Hub” which will be located in the Start Area on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  There will be the Ness Highland Catering food van and a pop-up bar run by the local River Leven Ales.  We hope you enjoy this addition to the event and that you support both businesses by enjoying their wares.

There will be Official Pre’65 Scottish Trial Merchandise on sale but it will be a limited range with stock carried over from last year but we will have 2025 t-shirts well stocked up for you to purchase from the lovely ladies who have taken up our appeal for help following the loss of Elaine.  Thank you to them for volunteering.

Official programmes will be available to purchase on our own Merchandise stand, Claymore Garage in Glencoe, the Co-op, Kinlochleven and Leven Bites Sandwich shop as well as the Trial Office and Observers Office in the Leven Centre.

Cheers

Anne Gordon

Secretary Pre’65 Scottish Trial
